Northern Wisconsin Reef Society (NWRS)

Welcome to the Northern Wisconsin Reef Society!

We are a group of marine aquarium lovers centered around the Rhinelander, Wisconsin area. Our members span all the way from northern Wisconsin to the Upper Penninsula of Michigan.

We started the club in 2007 with the gracious help of Drs. Foster and Smith. We typically meet monthly: either at a club members home to see their tank setup, or at the Drs. Foster and Smith Coral Farm.

Our last event was our 4nd annual Frag Swap that was held on March 17th, 2012 and was co-hosted by our neighbors:

Upper Peninsula of Michigan Marine Aquarium Society (UPMMAS) & Lake Superior Marine Aquarium Club (LSMAC). Newly formed clubs, Central Wisconsin Reef Society and Wausau Area Reef Society participated in the event and were a huge help running the swap! Our event is growing with area reef club participation. Inviting our "neighbor" clubs to get more involved in our swap does more than improve the event. It gives our clubs the opportunity to have co-meetings, other events like speakers and most importantly everybody can make new friends from different areas.
